Eaton Square Schools

London’s Finest Nurseries

Choosing your child’s first school is one of the most important decisions a parent will make.

You and your child deserve a nursery school that guarantees total confidence, excellence and individualised support throughout the educational journey.

Luckily for Dragons of Walton Street, the prestigious Eaton Square Schools ensure all of this. This impressive group of Nurseries, Prep and Senior School (with new Sixth form set to open in September 2022) are located closely to us, based across some of the finest buildings in Belgravia, Mayfair and Pimlico.

Three aspects of Eaton Square Schools are particularly renowned:

  • A warm, welcoming environment – All staff, from the assistants to the Heads, are both accomplished and approachable. A great combination!
  • Outstanding academic success – Pupils win places at the UK’s top day and boarding schools, such as Eton, Harrow, St Paul’s, Cheltenham Ladies, Francis Holland and Godolphin and Latymer
  • Exceptional extra-curricular activity – Forget just music and sport. At Eaton Square, they offer everything: from cookery and coding to debating and drama

It’s no wonder Tatler describes Eaton Square pupils as ‘loving life’.

We caught up with Zanna Clarke, Head of Early Years at Eaton Square Schools, to find out how their Nurseries provide your children with the best start in life…

LEARNING APPROACH

There is something very special about Eaton Square’s Nurseries. Academic standards are high, yet activities are developmentally age appropriate, creative and inspiring. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, we wholeheartedly believe that every child is unique: they learn and develop in different ways and at different rates. Our learning framework recognises this, and as such all our children progress through positive relationships and enabling environments.

We also provide the children with plenty of immersive experiences. For example, when learning the ‘P’ sound, the children can take their pound coins to Peggy Porschen to buy a cupcake.

WELCOMING ETHOS

If I had to describe Eaton Square in 3 words, I’d choose: nurturing, creative and inspiring. You will hear many of our current parents describing the school as a family. We balance our warm, encouraging ethos alongside a timeless, scholarly learning approach to ensure all children reach their full potential – and do so in a happy, healthy way.

To be surrounded by children from all over the world is a privilege. Our pupils regularly benefit from the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our community. Additionally, our Eccleston Square Nursery School is based in the heart of the Prep School building, which delicately familiarises your child with children of all ages. This aspect has proved so valuable that we are even expanding our Eccleston Square Nursery School space for September 2022. Watch this space!

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

Naturally, the physical surroundings of a child’s school plays a huge part in their development. Our Eaton Square Nursery School have been designed entirely with this in mind. Each is a creative and imaginative space, where every child can make independent choices. They can move freely. They can engage in role play. They can choose to parallel play or join in with their classmates.

Importantly - and unbeknown to the children - there is a deeply educational aspect to the design of each and every one of our Nursery Schools. The seven areas of the foundation stage of curriculum are embedded in the space; including maths, literacy, expressive arts and practical life skills. Our Nursery Schools are light, bright and vibrant, with beautiful, creative displays lining the walls.

Moving outdoors, our Nursery settings across Eccleston Square, Belgravia and Pimlico are simply ideal. All enable daily trips to the green gardens of St. George’s Square, Battersea Park and more. Our children play happily with their friends, embrace the fresh air and hugely enjoy the freedom to explore outdoors – a unique benefit for central London.

Usefully for parents, if you have children at both the Nursery and Prep, you can even pick up and drop off at the same place and time!
